One spray into the affected ear three times a day
Side effects
It is possible to get an allergic reaction to most medications. Common side effects: Stinging or burning sensation. Less common: Blurred vision
Warnings
Not to be used with a perforated ear drum. Not for use in children under 2 years. Don't use if you have previously had an allergic reaction to otomize.
Pregnancy
Not recommended during pregnancy

What is Otomize Ear Spray used to treat?

It is used to treat conditions of the outer parts of the ears that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and infection. Eg Otitis Externa

How does Otomize Ear Spray work?

Otomize contains dexamethasone, neomycin and acetic acid all of which relieve the pain and discomfort caused by the infection

Dexamethasone is a steroid that calms down the inflammation, and neomycin is an anti-infective agent.

How do I take Otomize Ear Spray?

The usual dose is to use it three times a day to the affected ear (s) for at least seven days

If there is no improvement after seven days please see your doctor for advise

Side effects of Otomize Ear Spray

May cause local sensitivity, ie burning or stinging when applied

Things to avoid

Should not be used if you have a perforated ear drum or grommets in place

Avoid getting the ear canal wet whilst on treatment for example when swimming or bathing

Avoid putting cotton buds into the ear canal as this can break the protective skin barrier and increase the risk of infection

Avoid prolonged use without medical advice

Otomize Ear Spray and alcohol

There is a little absorption of the ear drops into the bloodstream

Can I take Otomize Ear Spray when pregnant?

Not recommended during pregnancy.

Otomize Ear Spray and breastfeeding

There are no reports on use during lactation and the risk to the breast-fed child cannot be excluded.
