Stomach & Digestive Problems

Stomach and digestive problems commonly present to Doctor's and can be due to a variety of conditions. The human digestive tract starts at the mouth and ends at the anus and there are many common presentations that can cause symptoms at any stage of this journey.

From dental problems and mouth ulcers to acid reflux, indigestion and stomach ulcers, from pancreatitis and gallstones to constipation, diarrhoea and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), haemorrhoids (piles) and fissures. Many of these problems are self-limiting and will settle after a short period but some may be on-going and troublesome and require investigations and/or treatment to get resolution of the symptoms.

Others can be suggestive of other underlying conditions and symptoms like unplanned weight loss and rectal bleeding should always prompt a medical review
