Gonorrhoea is a very common sexually transmitted infection. This condition is very easy to pass on via sexual activity. Transmission rates are 20% for men and 50% for women.

The infection can be passed on by oral, vaginal and anal intercourse.
Symptoms often appear just a few days after exposure.
Treatment is with both oral antibiotics, such as Azithromycin, and injectable antibiotics. such as ceftriaxone.
Condoms are an effective was to reduce transmission via vaginal and anal sexual activity.
