Referrals to a Specialist
Whilst in the majority of cases our private doctors can provide treatment directly, there are some instances where it is advisable to seek the opinion of a doctor or other healthcare professional for specialist treatment.
DocTap GPs are ideally placed to advise you on which type of specialist to see and to make a referral to them. We don't receive funding from any private consultants or clinics so you can be assured that if a doctor suggests a referral it is because they think that this is the best way to sort out your problem.
There is no limit to the range of specialist that your doctor can refer to you. No matter how unusual or complicated the problem we can make the appropriate GP referral. Our doctors can arrange rapid referrals and even same day assessments for urgent problems. Unlike most private GP surgeries we do not charge for GP referral letters. We can also provide these referrals based on a telephone consultation, reducing the need for travel and face-to-face interaction.
Should you require any further investigations such as blood tests or scans then your doctor can also arrange these for you.

I was able to book an appointment for when I wanted, I got enough time to explain symptoms and be checked over and I was prescribed medicine which I received on site so I didn’t have to go to the pharmacy. Value for money was excellent.

I had the good fortune of being seen by Dr. Nitan Mehra again. I have been seeing General Practitioners for over 45 years, I can say with certainty that Dr. Mehra, has the most amazing (in depth), medical knowledge, ( even surpassing all the other mediocre GPs I have encountered to date), he’s quite an affable fellow as well.

The GP was excellent! Any time I make a booking I will be glad to have THE SAME DOCTOR ( Dr Hourmouzios) SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY SUPERB IN HER ADVICE . SHE IS VERY EXPERIENCED AND SHE DEMONSTRATED IT . Her explanations actually corroborated a few findings that I have made about myself in the past recent & distant past . A good example of her class and dexterity as a GP is that while the video-doctor suggested an almost- mandatory change of my BP medication (Amlodipine) as solution, she was quick to understand that for now it was not likely to be the cause because I have taken it for more than 15yrs and it will not suddenly cause such a swelling overnight .Other factors ( too detailed to list ) also made me to realise how good she is as a GP # Very-good-experience-!

I was traveling from Texas in London and developed a severe sinus infection and was miserable. Luckily I found DocTap and was able to sign up and talk to a GP in under 45 min. He was professional and prescribed my prescription and sent notes along with the service. I will use this service again and recommend to friends and family.

This will certainly be my go to if I’m sick again. I couldn’t make my original appointment but they switched me to another location and time for a small fee. Charming, knowledgeable doctor at the Kings Cross branch quickly diagnosed me and 24 hours later I’m feeling a whole lot better already. This system seems similar to the very efficient system in Paris “Doctolib”
