- Which organisations can use DocTap for business?
DocTap can be set up for employers, healthcare providers, health insurers, hotels, concierge and members clubs, schools and universities. The account setup changes depending on the organisation type: some organisations give eligible people direct booking access, while others manage bookings on behalf of patients, guests, clients or members.
- What does DocTap provide?
DocTap provides private GP consultations online or in clinic. GP appointments can cover everyday medical care such as diagnosis and treatment, prescriptions, referrals, medical letters, sick notes and follow-up care. Wider services such as testing, health screens and other GP-led services can be added by speaking to our team.
- What can be configured?
Your account is configured around your organisation type. This can include who is eligible, how bookings are made, appointment types, appointment allowances, organisation or individual contributions, payment method, branding and consented clinical-record access for providers and insurers.
- Can we add services beyond GP consultations?
Yes. The standard setup is based around GP consultations, but wider services such as health screens, blood tests, STI testing, diagnostics and other services can be added by speaking to DocTap. This is especially relevant for organisations that want a more tailored service or access to lab testing.
- Who books the appointment?
Employees, students and policyholders book directly through DocTap once they have been added to the organisation account. Healthcare providers, hotels, concierge services and members clubs manage bookings on behalf of patients, guests, clients or members.
- How does pricing work?
DocTap charges the same standard appointment rates that direct patients pay, with no setup fee, platform fee, subscription fee or long-term contract. Current 15-minute GP appointments are £75 for weekday clinic, £85 for weekend clinic, £65 for weekday video and £75 for weekend video. Longer 25-minute appointments are also available. - Can appointment costs be split between the organisation and the individual?
Yes. For direct-booking setups, organisations can set contribution rules so the organisation covers all or part of the appointment cost and the employee, student or policyholder pays the remaining contribution at checkout.
- Can an organisation add its own charge or margin?
For organisation-managed bookings, any additional charge to patients, guests, clients or members is entirely at the organisation’s discretion and handled outside DocTap. DocTap charges its standard patient rate for the appointment and does not manage or control any separate pricing your organisation applies.
- Can organisations access clinical records?
Clinical records are confidential by default. Healthcare providers and health insurers can request consented access to DocTap clinical records for patients under their organisation account. This may include consultation notes, test results, letters, prescriptions and related clinical information, but only with patient consent. Employers, hotels, schools, universities, concierge services and members clubs can manage access, bookings, billing or usage depending on their setup, but they do not see clinical records. Medical care remains confidential between the patient and DocTap.
- Can DocTap support bulk uploads or API integration?
Yes. API integration is available for partners who want to connect DocTap GP care, testing or clinical services into an existing product, platform or workflow.
