How we maintain clinical quality
The clinical standards behind every DocTap blood test, across our London clinics.
DocTap is led by experienced NHS and private GMC-registered doctors and a dedicated on-site lab team, so your results are in qualified hands from the moment your blood is taken to the moment a doctor explains them.

Most blood tests are taken during a GP appointment, so the £75 GP fee (£67.50 with DocTap Pass) applies. Some tests are the exception: asymptomatic STI tests and certain health screens are taken by a healthcare assistant (HCA), so the GP fee does not apply. STI tests without a GP appointment include: • STI screen: HIV, syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhoea, from £128 • HIV, from £63 • Chlamydia and gonorrhoea, from £74 • HIV early detect, from £174 • Early detect screen: HIV, hepatitis B and C, chlamydia and gonorrhoea, from £267. Health screens without a GP appointment include: • Bronze health screen: full blood panel, vitals and a same-day report, from £172 • HbA1c diabetes check, from £68 • Iron deficiency screen, from £95. If you have symptoms, or want a doctor to advise, review and treat, choose the GP version instead.
No referral needed. Book a GP appointment and your GP arranges the right tests and takes your sample during the consultation. You can browse our A-Z list to check tests and prices first.
Book a GP appointment and tell the GP what you're after. They'll arrange the test and take your sample during the consultation. You can browse our A-Z list to check tests and prices beforehand, but the test itself is ordered in your appointment.
Most blood tests need no preparation. A few may need you to fast beforehand. If yours does, we'll tell you in advance, in your booking summary and confirmation email, along with any other instructions. The focused blood panel does not require fasting.
Our laboratory partner TDL operate a Patient Reception at 76 Wimpole Street, London W1G 9RT where they are able to take bloods for children under 16. While occasional walk-in slots may be available, we strongly recommend booking online to secure an appointment at a time that suits you.

If a patient requests blood tests recommended by another doctor, we may be able to help. However, the tests will only be carried out if a DocTap doctor deems them to be clinically appropriate. Please note, we do not offer a standalone 'phlebotomy service' (i.e. blood collection without testing). To proceed, the patient must book a GP consultation and pay the standard fee. During the appointment, the doctor will review the patient's condition and decide whether to carry out the requested tests. Any supporting information from the referring doctor can help our GP make this decision.
We offer a range of blood tests and health screens, including checks for infections, liver and kidney function, cholesterol, and other routine markers. Your clinician can recommend the most suitable tests based on your health and risk factors.
