DocTap Pass is a one-off £15 pass that gives you 10% off eligible DocTap appointments and tests for 12 months. Medications and imaging scans are excluded. You can add Pass when you book or when adding eligible tests during your consultation.

Why do prices vary by test?

Prices reflect how complex each test is and the specialist lab processing involved. A routine test like a Full Blood Count (£38) is far simpler to process than a specialist panel or genetic test, which is why prices range from £23 to several hundred pounds.

Are there extra fees on top of the test price?

Yes, and we show them upfront: a £20 handling fee and a £75 GP appointment fee (£67.50 with DocTap Pass). There are no charges beyond the test price, handling fee and appointment fee.

Do all tests need a GP appointment?

Most blood tests are taken during a GP appointment, so the £75 GP fee (£67.50 with DocTap Pass) applies. Some tests are the exception: asymptomatic STI tests and certain health screens are taken by a healthcare assistant (HCA), so the GP fee does not apply. STI tests without a GP appointment include: • STI screen: HIV, syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhoea, from £128 • HIV, from £63 • Chlamydia and gonorrhoea, from £74 • HIV early detect, from £174 • Early detect screen: HIV, hepatitis B and C, chlamydia and gonorrhoea, from £267. Health screens without a GP appointment include: • Bronze health screen: full blood panel, vitals and a same-day report, from £172 • HbA1c diabetes check, from £68 • Iron deficiency screen, from £95. If you have symptoms, or want a doctor to advise, review and treat, choose the GP version instead.

Are results reviewed by a GP?

Yes. Your GP can review your results and explain what they mean, either in your appointment or as a follow-up in your DocTap account.

How quickly will I get results?

It depends on the test. Many common tests are available the next day, and at our clinics with on-site labs some key results can be ready during your visit. Turnaround times are shown per test and can occasionally take longer if further testing is needed.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book online and choose your tests directly, without a referral from your own GP.

What is DocTap Pass?: DocTap Pass is a one-off £15 pass that gives you 10% off eligible DocTap appointments and tests for 12 months. Medications and imaging scans are excluded. You can add Pass when you book or when adding eligible tests during your consultation.
Why do prices vary by test?: Prices reflect how complex each test is and the specialist lab processing involved. A routine test like a Full Blood Count (£38) is far simpler to process than a specialist panel or genetic test, which is why prices range from £23 to several hundred pounds.
Are there extra fees on top of the test price?: Yes, and we show them upfront: a £20 handling fee and a £75 GP appointment fee (£67.50 with DocTap Pass). There are no charges beyond the test price, handling fee and appointment fee.
Do all tests need a GP appointment?: Most blood tests are taken during a GP appointment, so the £75 GP fee (£67.50 with DocTap Pass) applies. Some tests are the exception: asymptomatic STI tests and certain health screens are taken by a healthcare assistant (HCA), so the GP fee does not apply. STI tests without a GP appointment include: • STI screen: HIV, syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhoea, from £128 • HIV, from £63 • Chlamydia and gonorrhoea, from £74 • HIV early detect, from £174 • Early detect screen: HIV, hepatitis B and C, chlamydia and gonorrhoea, from £267. Health screens without a GP appointment include: • Bronze health screen: full blood panel, vitals and a same-day report, from £172 • HbA1c diabetes check, from £68 • Iron deficiency screen, from £95. If you have symptoms, or want a doctor to advise, review and treat, choose the GP version instead.
Are results reviewed by a GP?: Yes. Your GP can review your results and explain what they mean, either in your appointment or as a follow-up in your DocTap account.
How quickly will I get results?: It depends on the test. Many common tests are available the next day, and at our clinics with on-site labs some key results can be ready during your visit. Turnaround times are shown per test and can occasionally take longer if further testing is needed.
Do I need a GP referral?: No. You can book online and choose your tests directly, without a referral from your own GP.
How much does a private blood test cost?: Individual test prices start from £23. On top of the test price there is a £20 handling fee and a £75 GP appointment fee (£67.50 with DocTap Pass), during which your sample is taken.
