Biography

Dr Saima Khan is a General Practitioner with over two decades of clinical experience who is deeply committed to the stability and variety that high-quality family medicine provides. She graduated with honours in behavioural science, anatomy, and physiology from the University of Leeds before qualifying as a doctor in 1999. Her career began with a series of rigorous hospital rotations that have given her a remarkably broad medical foundation, spanning accident and emergency care, psychiatry, and paediatrics, as well as specialized work in obstetrics and gynaecology. This extensive background ensures she is equally comfortable managing acute health crises as she is supporting patients through long-term physical or mental health journeys.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr Khan is an active educator who values the mutual learning that comes from teaching medical students. She is a linguistically diverse clinician, possessing knowledge of French, Urdu, and Hindi, which allows her to connect with patients from various cultural backgrounds more effectively. Her patient-centered approach is informed by a belief that high-quality care requires both technical precision and a genuine understanding of the individual person. She keeps her skills sharp through regular advanced training, including masterclasses in heart health and safeguarding for both adults and children.

Outside of her medical work, Dr Khan is a dynamic individual who brings the same energy to her personal life as she does to her patients. She is the director of her own property management business and is an advocate for the mental and physical benefits of an active lifestyle, enjoying cycling, walking, and high-intensity training. An avid traveller who has visited every continent from the Americas to the Arctic Circle, she deeply values the richness of different cultures. Now settled in Barnes, she is dedicated to providing consistent, empathetic care to her local community while maintaining the high standards she has cultivated over twenty years in the profession.
