How our booked alternative works
If you are looking for a walk-in doctor, the first step with DocTap is to choose an available appointment online. Booking gives you a time and clinic to attend, so you can plan your journey.
You can book a single appointment when you need help. You do not need to transfer from your usual GP or join a membership. You will provide your details during booking so that we can arrange your appointment and keep your medical record.
DocTap appointments are private and paid for by the patient. Please complete your booking before travelling to the clinic.

Questions before you book
- Can I come in without an appointment?
Please book before arriving. Check availability online and complete your booking for a particular clinic and time. We cannot promise that a GP will be available if you arrive without a booking.
- Can I book in the evening or at the weekend?

- What should I bring, including when booking for a child?
Bring ID, details of your medicines and any relevant medical records. For a child under 16, bring their passport or birth certificate. The accompanying adult must also bring ID. If they are not the child’s parent or legal guardian, they must bring a signed permission letter from the parent or guardian. Contact patient support before booking if you need help with these requirements.
- Is this an NHS walk-in centre?
DocTap provides private appointments, which you pay for yourself. If you need help finding the appropriate NHS service, use NHS 111.
- Do I have to register with DocTap or change my usual GP?
You can book a one-off appointment without changing your usual GP. We ask for your details during booking and create a medical record for your care.
- Can I book if I am visiting London?
