DocTap supports HealthTech and digital health businesses, including those developing AI in healthcare, through healthcare API integration, diagnostic partnerships, laboratory testing and clinician review within its CQC-registered clinical service.

Health-tech partnership

Calibre is a digital health company using diagnostic testing, clinical expertise and purpose-built AI to support more proactive, personalised healthcare. During its launch phase, DocTap acted as its clinical delivery partner, providing API-enabled booking, in-person diagnostic testing, clinician review and CQC-registered healthcare infrastructure.

About Calibre

Calibre is a London-based healthtech company building a more proactive and personalised approach to health.

Founded by a team with experience across consumer technology, healthtech and medicine, Calibre combines diagnostic testing, clinical expertise and purpose-built AI to help members better understand their health and make more informed decisions about it.

Since emerging from stealth, Calibre has attracted backing from specialist health and technology investors and is developing what it describes as Causal Health Navigation, bringing together health history, lifestyle and diagnostic information to support more personalised, proactive guidance.

Connecting a digital experience with clinical care

For digital health businesses, creating the technology and member experience is only one part of delivering healthcare.

When a service also involves diagnostic testing, clinical interpretation and regulated healthcare activity, the digital journey needs to connect with appropriate clinical infrastructure behind the scenes.

DocTap worked with Calibre as its CQC-registered clinical partner during Calibre’s early operational phase, supporting the diagnostic and clinical elements of its member journey while Calibre built toward establishing its own regulatory registration.

A joined-up pathway

Calibre members arranged their diagnostic testing through the Calibre experience. An API integration connected the booking journey with DocTap, where members could attend for in-person sample collection.

Once laboratory results were available, DocTap clinicians provided clinical interpretation and review, supporting the wider health assessment delivered through Calibre.

This allowed Calibre to retain ownership of its product and member experience while drawing on DocTap’s established healthcare infrastructure for the clinical elements of the service during that phase.

The clinical infrastructure behind the experience

Through the partnership, DocTap supported Calibre with:

  • API-enabled booking integration, connecting elements of the Calibre journey with DocTap’s clinical systems.
  • In-person diagnostic testing, providing the physical healthcare component behind the digital experience.
  • Clinician interpretation and review, bringing medical oversight into the pathway.
  • CQC-regulated healthcare infrastructure, supported by established clinical governance and escalation processes.

The teams also worked together on the clinical frameworks that supported the service, helping provide a consistent approach while ensuring individual clinical decisions remained subject to professional judgement.

Bringing together two areas of expertise

The partnership allowed each organisation to focus on its respective strengths.

Calibre developed the technology, member experience and wider proactive health proposition, while DocTap provided the clinical delivery and governance supporting relevant parts of that journey during Calibre’s launch phase.

For members, the aim was a connected experience rather than a series of separate healthcare services. Behind the scenes, technology, diagnostics and clinical expertise worked together as part of the same pathway.

How DocTap works with other healthcare businesses

The Calibre partnership is one example of how DocTap can provide the clinical infrastructure behind another organisation’s service. The right model depends on the product, patient journey and level of clinical support required.

Healthcare technology companies

For digital health platforms, apps and technology-led services, DocTap can support integrated clinical pathways including GP care, diagnostic testing, clinical review and API-enabled workflows.

Healthcare & wellbeing providers

For healthcare and wellbeing providers, DocTap can extend an existing service with GP input, diagnostics, prescribing and medical investigations where additional clinical support is needed.
