“Dr. Mohammed Qurashi was an exceptional doctor. He was extremely thorough, detailed in covering all of my concerns and questions, and had a really kind bedside manner which made me feel calm in discussing my health concerns. He covered off everything I wanted to discuss and really approached my symptoms with great care, reviewed my test results, and I left the appointment with a clear plan of action. I would highly recommend Dr. Quarshi, and even asked how I could request him for future appointments as a primary physician as he was so attentive to checking my medical history and never made me feel rushed. Thank you so much for the exceptional care and appointment. Kind, clear treatment of this manner is so rare these days! Highly recommend booking with Dr. Quarshi if you can.”

Frequently asked questions about STI treatment

Where can I get treated for an STI?

STI testing and treatment are available at DocTap clinics across London. If you want test results within four hours, book at one of the rapid-result clinics.

How do I book an appointment?

You can easily book online, through the DocTap website. Simply choose the condition you need treatment for, select your preferred clinic and time, and attend your appointment.

Can I get tested if I don’t have symptoms?

Yes. Many STIs do not cause symptoms, so it’s a good idea to get tested after unprotected sex or a new sexual partner.

Do I need to bring anything?

Please bring photo ID and any recent test results, if you have them.

How fast will I get my results?

At selected rapid-result clinics, results are usually ready within four hours. If results take longer than this, we’ll refund your test fee.

Will anyone else see my results?

No. Your results are fully confidential and stored securely. We won’t share them with your NHS GP, employer, or anyone else without your consent.

Which STIs can’t you treat?

We cannot treat HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B/C. You’ll be advised to visit an NHS GUM clinic to treat these.

What’s included in gonorrhoea treatment?

Gonorrhoea treatment includes a GP administered antibiotic injection, culture test for resistance and anonymous partner notification.

Will I need a follow up test after the treatment has taken effect?

Yes, a follow-up appointment is recommended two weeks after your Gonorrhoea treatment, to confirm the infection is gone. This is particularly important if the infection was in your throat, if you still have symptoms, if you are pregnant, or your initial test did not check for antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

I have received a positive STI result elsewhere, can I be treated at DocTap?

Yes, you can get treated at DocTap even if your STI was diagnosed elsewhere. Please bring any test reports, so the clinician can review your case and decide the best treatment.

Will DocTap help me notify my partners if I test positive for an STI?

Yes. If you test positive, your clinician will discuss partner notification options with you. DocTap works with a trusted third-party service that can contact your partners confidentially, with your consent. we do not see or store your partners' details.

Can I book a video consultation for STI treatment?

For STI treatment, while a video consult might start the process, examination, tests or in‑person treatment will likely still be needed depending on your condition. We advise in-person appointments for STI treatment.
